Under Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act (ESA), Federal agencies must ensure that any action authorized, funded, or carried out by such agency is not likely to jeopardize the continued existence of any endangered or threatened species or result in the destruction or adverse modification of critical habitat. Actions carried out by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) are subject to Section 7 of the ESA.
When evaluating pesticide for registration or re-registration, EPA often produces a Biological Evaluation (BE) which includes determinations of effects on ESA-listed species. EPA’s recent BEs have also included likely jeopardy/adverse modification (J/AM) predictions. AMMPS includes a compilation of all the available EPA effects determinations published after 2016 in a searchable format and will continue to be updated with newly released BEs. AMMPS users can view individual assessments, search for individual species, and customize outputs using the table below to sort and/or group compiled data fields.
